NORTHUMBERLAND LOCAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN CONSULTATION BEGINS

The Northumberland Core Strategy, the meaty part of the LDF, is now available for consultation. The consultation will run until 15th August. It will eventually replace the old District plans. It has been a long time coming, but this has had the advantage that it should take the new National Planning Policy Framework into consideration, rather than the redundant Regional Spatial Strategy.

The LDF will shape all future development in the county, including housing provision, commercial premises and, crucially, energy generation. I will be responding in due course, but look forward to receiving comments from Members. There are quite a few drop in sessions taking place across the county in June and July.
